Renaissance of the Daleks from a story by Christopher H Bidmead. Slated for release this month, this story sees the Doctor and Nyssa do battle with Daleks in Rhodes, America, Vietnam, and the 'Pantemporal Ambience'.
April's release contains two stories. The first is I.D. by Eddie Robson, which features the Sixth Doctor in the thirty-second century stumbling across organic-digital interfacing, personality surgery and an army of Scandroids on a planet piled high with technological junk. Urgent Calls is the second story on this release, and is the first of the new one-part 'Virus Strand' stories. This story sees the Doctor learning that one phonecall can change everything...
May also has a dual-story release, starting with Exotron by Paul S Sutton. Here the Fifth Doctor and Peri are menaced by the ravening Farakosh in a tale of broken hearts and bioengineered nightmares. Urban Myths finishes out the release with a tale of planetary destruction and culinary confusions.
Marc Platt brings us Valhalla in June, in which the Seventh Doctor finds himself without a companion on a moon of Jupiter.
Dual-releases return in July with The Wishing Beast by Paul Magrs. In this three-part story, the Sixth Doctor is unexpectedly expected by some weird sisters. This release also includes The Vantiy Box, a single episode set in a cosy northern backstreet.
Nicholas Briggs shows us Frozen Time in August and lets us join the Seventh Doctor on an expedition to Antarctica with Lord Barset.
In September, Steve Lyons introduces the Fifth Doctor, Peri, and Erimem to Vlad the Impaler in Son of the Dragon.
The 100th Big Finish Doctor Who Release comes out in September. Earthstorm by Stephen Baxter gets the Sixth Doctor and Evelyn get caught up in a global catastrophe in 1963.
October brings Absolution for the Eighth Doctor, Charley and C'rizz. Written by Scott Alan Woodard, this story sees the companions reach a turning point in their lives.
Colin Brake shows us The Mind's Eye in November. The Fifth Doctor, Peri, and Erimem face life-changing experiences on a planet swarming with hostile lifeforms. There will also be a one-part adventure on this release that has yet to be confirmed.

Taxi driver conned by Doctor Who money
The Northern Echo is reporting that a taxi driver in Darlington has been conned by a passenger who left a fake £20 note, branded with Doctor Who imagery, as security while he left the vehicle during a stop-off mid journey. According to the report: "Arriving in Shildon, the passenger told him he needed to go into a nearby house to collect a suitcase. By way of security, he left a wallet on the vehicle's dashboard containing a visible, but folded, realistic looking £20 note."When the passenger failed to return, the driver investigated the note and discovered it to be a fake apparently coming from "the Bank of Doctor Who." The report claims that the note featured the image of a Cyberman, which would preclude it from having been one of those specially mocked-up for the cash machine scene of last year's Christmas special The Runaway Bride, as those £20 notes featured the face of producer Phil Collinson. However, this could have been the journalist's attempt to make the story more appealing to readers.
Who is The Weakest Link
The special Doctor Who themed episode of the quiz show The Weakest Link has been scheduled for transmission on BBC One from 8.30pm on Friday 30th March.As previously reported, the episode was recorded on the 21st November and the contestants who took part were David Tennant, Camille Coduri, Noel Clarke, John Barrowman, Nicholas Briggs, Tracy-Ann Oberman, Claire Rushbrook, Andrew Haydyn-Smith and K9. So far the winner has remained a closely guarded secret!

A new 40 second trailer is available online at the official BBC Doctor Who site. It features specially shot material contrasting the Doctor and Martha Jones, ending with brief clips from the first 5 episodes. No transmission date is given, merely that Doctor Who is "coming soon".

According to Digital Spy Stephen Fry will not be writing an episode of Doctor Who due to his busy schedule, CLICK HERE to read it. Last June Outpost Gallifrey reported he had pulled out writing for Series Three for the same reason.
From Doctor Who to opera coups: Jon Culshaw has done it all
Jon Culshaw is perhaps best known for his astonishing impersonation of Tom Baker - part of his repertoire of 350 voices. Now he has taken on David Dimbleby in a satirical operatic take on Question Time, he tells Tony PadmanJon Culshaw has an unorthodox way of avoiding unwanted callers to the front door of his Parliament Hill home. Rather than put up a sign saying no canvassers, politicians or estate agents, he switches into Tom Baker as Doctor Who.He recounts one such occasion. "Once, a group of Jehovah's Witnesses rang the doorbell and said: 'We'd like to talk to you about the Bible for a little while'. "It was busy time for me, so I just reacted in the voice of Tom Baker and said, 'No, I'm terribly sorry, that would be, err, terribly nice but unfortunately I have a very important job to do - one that involves the entire future of your species. Goodbye.'"I had a camera on the intercom and I wish I could have filmed it as they looked at each other in such a quizzical way."Needless to say, an interview with the impressionist and comedian is pure cabaret.He peppers our conversation with an assortment of famous voices. His Tom Baker is vocally so accurate and the delivery line so funny that you can picture the stunned reaction of the poor Jehovah's Witnesses. Although best known for the radio and television comedy show Dead Ringers, Culshaw made a slight departure for one night only when he played David Dimbleby in the BBC's sure-to-be-repeated Kombat Opera - Question Time Out.Culshaw explains the premise behind the show: "The programme's doing badly in the ratings and there's a modern studio executive who has an idea to have Graham Norton present it live from a pole dancing club."Mr Dimbleby objects to this and it's all about the battle of how he campaigns and gets everybody on his side and wins the fight - or does he?"Culshaw was so fascinated while reading the script that he began to imagine how this"pillar of the broadcasting world" would have responded were this to be true.He wanted to see how an esteemed journalist such as Dimbleby might react to some of the most bizarre situations imaginable, so in this case it was more than simply doing the voice - it also called for straight acting. His motivation in accepting the role was straightforward. "I was sent the script and thought, 'Yes I could do something with that'," says the 38-year-old, who speaks with a quiet northern accent except when he does his Tom Baker. "The starting point is to do the impersonation from behind the Question Time desk. Then as the guests become more and more outlandish, so the venues become more and more ridiculous."Add to that the inexperienced producers who come in and shout the odds with more barmy ideas. "Really, you've got to lift David Dimbleby up and make him into an activist and campaigner who you know will be heading to the streets. Everything is un-Dimbleby-like. He gets into a corner and fights." The musical comedy, written by Richard Thomas, also features the BBC Concert Orchestra, the BBC Singers and stars from the world of opera. Culshaw recalls: "One day the Question Time audience consisted of this huge choir and they would sing the questions with these wonderful harmonies and it was a staggering, amazing wall of glorious sound. It was beautiful to hear these arias with operatic delivery singing silly things. It's groundbreaking - nothing like it at all and it feels unique, which is great. I'm always looking for something like that." Dimbleby is one of more than 350 impersonations perfected by Culshaw that have won him and Dead Ringers rave reviews and countless awards, including a Broadcasting Press Guild award for Best Radio Programme.In fact, the only job this Ormskirk-born Lancashire lad has ever known is doing impressions.As far back as an eight-year-old, he mimicked neighbours, relatives (including an aunt who sounded like Alan Bennett) and his headteacher. He says he had his eureka moment when he was 15. "I just knew it would be some kind of performance thing," Culshaw remembers with precision."I was in the third year of high school and we had to make our career options. I had no interest in maths or science. It was a case of what are you going to do, what are you good at and what are you interested in?"But one science he did enjoy was watching The Sky At Night with Patrick Moore and Dr Who with Tom Baker, both of whom would make their mark when Dead Ringers began on Radio 4 in 2000 and two years later on BBC2. "I was not in a rush," he points out. "It was an accumulative thing, not a Big Brother load of nonsense. I wanted to take care and do my best, stuff I could look back and say I'm proud of that." This knack for voices plus a love of speech radio led to his first big break in 1986 as a presenter - albeit with an audience of patients and nurses on radio at Ormskirk General Hospital. The comedy road to Spitting Image and Dead Ringers went via local radio stations in the north where he finely tuned his famous hoax phone calls to listeners. He moved to London 10 years ago because of voice work and stints on Radio 1 and Capital Radio. "I came down here when I got a London voiceover agent. I thought this is the place to be if you're going to try and do something. This is the engine room of the entertainment industry." Culshaw comes across as easy going with no airs and graces despite the success he has achieved.Brought up on a diet of comedy geniuses such as Tommy Cooper, Morecambe and Wise and Ronnie Barker, he gives credit to his peers who have inspired him, such as Phil Cool, Rory Bremner and, in particular, Mike Yarwood.He says with absolute admiration for Yarwood: "A gentleman. I met Mike on several occasions. I loved the way he would recount stories about how he put his programmes together and how he met his characters and so on." The future is bright for Culshaw with more Dead Ringers on BBC2 and Radio 4, commercial voiceover work, plus a sketch for Comedy Relief on March 16. He admits his long-term plan could be away from traditional impressions. "I want to do more straight or character acting, something where you're not simply copying sounds from a tape - where you're actually reading a script and building a character."I'd like the feeling you get as you read the script, when you figure out who they are and what shaped them and what makes them react. It's a different area to making a voice."One instance for which Culshaw will forever be remembered was in 1998 while working on the Steve Penk show on Capital Radio. He was caught by a man who proved to be one step ahead of him: Tony Blair. The headline writers had a field day and it brought a smile to thefaces of Fleet Street political commentators and severalmillion newspaper readers. Culshaw, pretending to be William Hague, telephoned 10 Downing Street and asked to be put through to the Prime Minister, live on air. He does his William Hague while relating the story: "I said, 'Oh, Tony, eh up, eh up Tony'. I never expected to be put through and the joke was actually not to get through. It was meant to be, 'I am William Hague and you think I'm not important enough to be put through to the Prime Minister.'"The telephonist believed me and she put me straight through to Tony Blair who came to the phone and said hello. It was then I became nervous and thought, 'Oh we're in trouble now.' He knew it wasn't William Hague because he always addresses him as Prime Minister, not Tony." That might go some way to explaining that as an impressionist you can fool all of the people all of the time, unless it's Tony Blair.

BBC Radio Wales seeks help
BBC Radio Wales is giving fans the chance to question the cast and crew of Doctor Who.The show Doctor Who Back In Time is returning on Saturday, March 30 with a 30-minute edition previewing Series Three and taking a look at new companion Martha Jones.Another edition will take a look at the Welsh contribution to the programme and the effect that Doctor Who has had on Wales by helping the local economy and giving Welsh talent opportunities.The final edition will be where the fans can quiz absolutely anybody involved with the programme.Those chosen could have their query recorded and get it answered on air.The official Doctor Who website quotes Julian Carey, the show's presenter and producer, as saying: "A couple of months ago I was giving a talk to my son's primary school about the kind of work I do."When they realised I had even the tiniest amount of contact with the world of Doctor Who I got bombarded with loads of questions about the series - most of which I couldn't answer!"The thing was they asked some fantastic questions - some of which I would never have come up with, so I thought it might be a good idea to let normal, everyday fans of the Doctor have the chance to ask any member of the team the questions that have been bugging them for the last three years."Click on either the BBC Radio Wales or official website links to submit questions.

In an interview with Doctor Who Magazine, Gillane Seaborne, series producer for Doctor Who Confidential gave a brief overview of what viewers can expect this season.
"Our first episode will introduce you to Martha Jones (the fantastic Freema Agyeman), then for episode 2 we follow the main unit on their long nights at the Globe Theatre. For episode 3 we go backstage of New New York, and we actually go got to go to the real New York for episode 4. DWM Announces More Special Issues
In the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine , the publication announced its plan for Special Issues upcoming in 2007. In Their Own Words Volume Three: 1977-1983 will be available in April. July will see The Doctor Who Storybook 2008 released in the same format as last year, once again featuring writers from the TV series. The Doctor Who Companion Series Three, which includes 100 pages of behind-the scenes revelations compiled by Andrew Pixley, will be out in August. The final installment of In Their Own Words series will be out in November and will cover 1984-1989 and the 1996 TV Movie. In addition to the Special Releases, there will be two more graphic novels. The Flood will be released in May, while Voyager will be out in October.

Newsround set report
In a recent CBBC's Newsround Blog, Lizo talks about his visit to the set of Doctor Who Confidential, and chatting with David Tennant about his role as the Doctor. Tennant gave away some information about the episode Blink, and also revealed that filming on series three is to end this week.The blog says, "David's been filming since last summer, and revealed that filming will finally finish at the end of this week. Goodbye Gareth Hunt
The actor Gareth Hunt, who played Arak in Jon Pertwee's regeneration story Planet of the Spiders, died of pancreatic cancer yesterday at home in Redhill, Surrey. He was 65.Hunt was probably most famous for the role of Mike Gambit in The New Avengers in the 1970s. Regarding the Manhatten-Daleks episode: from GQ
It concerns a plot to create Dalek-human hybrids and features the Pig Men, amiable sorts with porcine faces and human bodies. It concludes with typical restraint with the Doctor climbing the Empire State Building while lightning clashes around him. The newest issue of SFX Magazine has just been dispatched to subscibers; and I've already got my edition sitting on the coffee table. It's an interesting read - which includes an interview with executive producer Russell T Davies, who talks about Doctor Who's third season. The TARDIS, similar to that seen on the Doctor Who BBC TV series, has materialised overnight in city squares throughout Manchester.
The machine has been spotted four times, in St Anne’s Square, Albert Square, Exchange Square and Piccadilly Gardens. The sightings are two weeks ahead of the Doctor Who Up-Close Exhibition, which starts at The Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester on 31 March.
TARDIS stands for ‘Time and Relative Dimension in Space’. It is an unreliable old time machine in the form of a 1950s police call box, which is much larger on the inside than the outside. The TARDIS is used by the Doctor to travel through time and space.
The arrival of the TARDIS in the city is a taste of what is to come in the Manchester exhibition, which will be the largest ever held. It will be the first time that characters from the upcoming third series of Doctor Who can be seen by the public.
Russell Leigh, the Museum’s resident TARDIS manufacturersaid:
“The Museum’s technical staff have been working hard on TARDIS production over the last few months. We’ve created four of them, which are set to appear in and around Manchester while Doctor Who Up Close is at our Museum. We spent a lot of time getting the details right. The panelling is the same design as the the 1950s Police Call Box that became more famous as the TARDIS used by the Doctor, and the paint is authentic ‘Oxford Blue’. So far, the Time Machine device is still a bit faulty, but we’re working on that and we hope to be visiting an area near you very soon!”
Among the new exhibits will be the impressive four metre-long Empress of Racnoss character, which appeared in the Christmas Day special of Doctor Who: The Runaway Bride. Given its size, the Empress Spider has so far been unable to fit in other galleries.
Doctor Who Up Close has proved to be avery popular exhibition since the re-launch of the new series of Doctor Who in 2005. It started in Brighton and exhibitions have now taken place in Leicester, Merseyside and Cardiff. The latest venue, the special exhibitions gallery at the Museum of Science and Industry, is the largest space so far. At over 700 square metres, the gallery will be able to house larger items than any previous exhibition.
Doctor Who Up Close offers people a chance to peek behind the scenes of the TV programme. Nearly 10 million viewers have tuned in to watch the new episodes of Doctor Who.

Doctor Who Up-Close in Manchester
BBC News has reported on the arrival of the Doctor Who Up-Close exhibition in Manchester at the end of the month.The experience opens on 31st March 2007 at the Museum of Science and Industry and promises to be the largest ever Doctor Who exhibition, with many exhibits which have never been shown before.The exhibition will run until 5th November 2007.
SFX Interview
An extended version of the interview with Russell T Davies that appeared in SFX issue 155 has gone online on the magazine's official website. Davies talks about many things, including Martha and her family, and what role they will play in the new upcoming series. There is also mention of the episodes based on the novel Human Nature, and episode ten, Blink.SFX issue 155 is on sale from Wednesday 14th March.

Piper tells of stage terror
Billie Piper told today how her West End debut in Treats could have brought her close to breaking point.In a lengthy interview for the Evening Standard, she said: "If I start to think about everything that everybody writes about me, I would probably break - I'm just trying something new and there's nothing wrong with that and, yes, it's hard."It's my first time on the West End stage and I've never done it before - it's hardly surprising that it's going to be really terrifying."Piper had to miss two preview performances because of a bout of gastric flu, then the opening night was delayed, leading to various speculation."I was nervous and everybody was nervous . . . and then you have this hysteria. It's just frustrating more than anything," she said."But when the press are sat outside your stage door en masse, it's quite hard to brush off. Cult Spy: Phobia Corner 1
Ever been plagued by random irrational fears after too many hours were spent in front of the box, especially during your childhood?Over the coming weeks Cult Spy will be examining some possible phobias that have resulted from a cult television overload and pointing the finger at various naughty culprits…The Phobia: Swimming PoolsThe Cause: Doctor Who, Paradise Towers, Ep Four (1987) Hordes of children across Britain were terrified of taking the plunge after witnessing the terrifying scenes in episode four of ‘Paradise Towers’ in 1987. Not even those trusted water wings could ease the fear of what might be lurking in the murky corners of swimming pools around the country. Nope, not Bonnie Langford in a polka dot bathing costume. But instead the dreaded robotic ‘Cleaners’…For the plot of ‘Paradise Towers’ revolved around the malevolent architect Kroagnon’s efforts to rid the building of ‘living flesh’, whom he felt littered his wonderful construction. From his basement lair, he commanded the supposedly friendly ‘cleaners’ to glide round the corridors (rather like Daleks) and pick off the residents one by one.So what does The Doctor’s companion Mel (Langford) do to fend off the impending threat? Go for a swim. The silly bint. Now as we all know, swimming pools need cleaning. So when Mel (Langford) decides to take a dip, out pops this yellow, bug-eyed, crab-like robot ‘cleaner’ with mechanical pincers at the ready. (I thought it was veruccas you’re supposed to get from swimming, not crabs?). Anyway, she freezes and unleashes her piercing screams in a bid to break free from the plastic crab’s clutches. A stampede of feet around the nation could be heard as viewers surged for the Mute button on their remotes. Actually, it was probably more like a pitter-patter given that barely anyone watched the show back then. Damn those BBC schedulers!Right, back to the killer crab before I burn my licence fee. Through an impressionable child’s eyes, this monster was evil incarnate, pure and simple. Who could blame anyone for fearing to enter the shallowest of waters ever again? Okay, so it wasn’t quite ‘Jaws’. But the fact that the monster, in these pre-CGI days, resembled a vacuum cleaner with a couple of yellow traffic cones attached to it is irrelevant. For the power of imagination can turn even the most sedate bits of plastic into the greatest threat ever… but don’t tell Peter Andre just yet.

CELEBS ditched their limos today to take part in Wales' Walk For Life.
Weathergirl Sian Lloyd, Torchwood actress Eve Myles (pictured), BBC Wales X-Ray's Rhodri Owen and ex-Steps singer Ian H Watkins joined thousands of pedestrians from across the country in Kidney Wales' annual event.
Supporters organised walks in their own communities, from Ammanford to Anglesey. And some were lucky enough to attract a star billing.
Sian Lloyd, who is heading up the 2007 campaign, said: "The annual Kidney Wales Walk for Life event has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds over the years and this success continues to be dependent upon the generous support of so many communities. We just couldn't do it without them."
Eve Myles, who stepped out at Pontypridd's Walk for Life, said: "If I can use my own popularity to assist walk organiser Lorraine Flood in her endeavours to get more walkers in Ponty then I will be thrilled.

Supporters organised walks in their own communities, from Ammanford to Anglesey. And some were lucky enough to attract a star billing.
Sian Lloyd, who is heading up the 2007 campaign, said: "The annual Kidney Wales Walk for Life event has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds over the years and this success continues to be dependent upon the generous support of so many communities. We just couldn't do it without them."
Eve Myles, who stepped out at Pontypridd's Walk for Life, said: "If I can use my own popularity to assist walk organiser Lorraine Flood in her endeavours to get more walkers in Ponty then I will be thrilled.
"It is crucial that we keep raising awareness about kidney disease and the vital role of organ donation."
TV presenter Rhodri Owen was joining the Walk for Life in Swansea.
"It's a fundraising event that anyone can participate in. It's a great way to spend your Sunday. You can spend time with friends and family, stretch your legs, and show your support for kidney patients across the country, all in one afternoon!"

Classic series clips search
The website of the Doctor Who Restoration Team, the group of experts who remaster and prepare extra features for the range of classic series Doctor Who DVD releases from 2 entertain Ltd, has been updated with a new page appealing for help searching for clips connected to the classic series which might be useful as extra features on future DVDs.The "Clip Search" page, located here, gives full details on the types of clips particularly being sought; the introduction from the page is reproduced below. Those who believe they may be able to help with the search or have clips should e-mail the specific address given on that page, rather than the generic Restoration Team e-mail address on the main page of their website.
We are keen to hear from anyone who has material recorded off-air that may not exist in official archives that would be of interest to Doctor Who fans and posterity, which we could include in future DVDs. Without help from a few fans in the past, we would not have had items on the DVDs such as any of the 'Swap Shop', 'Pebble Mill' or 'Nationwide' interviews, BSB interview segments, trailers and continuity announcements. Although we have access to a large number of items, coverage remains patchy. Fourth series 'greenlit'
A fourth series of Doctor Who has been commissioned, according to an interview piece with Russell T Davies in the Seven magazine section of The Sunday Telegraph.The extremely lengthy article - which includes a feature called "The Russell T Davies Effect" - also suggests that there will be a Christmas 2007 special, states that Series Three will start on March 31 at 7pm - and hints that Davies wants to move on from the show, saying he is looking for a new challenge and quoting him as saying: "I've always wanted to adapt The Old Curiosity Shop. I love it. It's about time someone had the nerve to rewrite Dickens. The whole plot is a mess", although Davies ruefully points out that ITV is in the process of doing it.The print edition of the magazine has Davies on the cover and the editorial features are liberally illustrated.

The Doctor Who outfit worn by Tom Baker has sold for 12 times its estimate at an auction of TV and movie memorabilia.
The costume - including a burgundy frock coat, brown tweed trousers and the Timelord's famous stripey scarf - went for £24,600 in the sale at Bonham's in Knightsbridge, west London. It had been expected to fetch £1,500-£2,000.
The Batman and Robin outfits worn by David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst as Del Boy and Rodney in the 1996 Only Fools and Horses episode Heroes and Villains sold for £10,200 - double their estimate.
An Army jacket worn by actor Arthur Lowe as Captain Mainwaring in Dad's Army fetched £3,120 (estimate £600-£800).
The cloak worn by Sir Alec Guinness as Obi Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars movie sold for £54,000. An anonymous telephone bidder snapped up the outfit, which had an estimate of £50,000 - £60,000.
The collection of outfits was created and supplied by Angels the Costumiers, which was founded in 1840 and is thought to be the world's longest-established supplier of costumes to the industry.

New 'Doctor Who' to air on WSKG NY
The first season of the revived British sci-fi series "Doctor Who," which stars Christopher Eccleston as an alien adventurer called the Doctor and Billie Piper as human traveling companion Rose Tyler, will begin airing locally on WSKG-TV this weekend.
WSKG will show the first two episodes Saturday at 10 and 11 p.m. as part of its March membership drive, with future episodes being shown at 10:30 p.m. Saturdays, starting March 24. (Since it's a show for the whole family, though, you may want to record it and share the experience with the kids later on.)

The play, by Christopher Hampton, is due to formally open at the Garrick Theatre on Thursday, a week later than originally planned.
On Tuesday, at one of the preview performances, the former Dr Who star failed to appear on stage.
But on Wednesday she seemed fit and well as she took to the stage in front of a full house.
Ten days ago, the actress missed another preview performance after collapsing shortly before she was meant to appear on stage.
Danielle Robinson, spokeswoman for the star, said: "She was off on Tuesday night on doctor's orders because she wasn't very well.
"She saw a doctor on Tuesday and was diagnosed with a bug."
Piper is the latest star to fall ill while performing in the West End.
The Sound of Music star Connie Fisher will be absent from the hit production for the next fortnight after damaging a vocal chord.
Fisher, who has proved a huge draw with audiences after winning the part in a BBC talent show, has missed several performances over recent months through ill health.

Web of Fear on Four
BBC Four has scheduled a repeat of episode 1 of The Web of Fear on Sunday, 18th March.It will be shown from 8.35pm, as part of an evening of programmes themed around the London Underground.

David Tennant is reuniting with The Runaway Bride co-star Catherine Tate for Comic Relief but probably not as the Doctor.The BBC press office says Tate has teamed up with Tennant and Lenny Henry plus other surprise guests for some new sketches.Red Nose Day 2007 - on Friday, March 16 - will also see Simon Pegg (The Long Game), Davina McCall (Bad Wolf), Trinny Woodall (Bad Wolf), Maureen Lipman (The Idiot's Lantern) and Peter Kay (Love and Monsters) involved in the fund-raising drive to help vulnerable people in the UK and Africa.It is being screened on BBC1 from 7pm to approximately 3.05am on Saturday, with a 35-minute break for the news at 10pm.

Laurence steps in to protect Billie
Laurence Fox stepped in to protect his girlfriend Billie Piper when a drunk fan lunged at her in central London last night.The 28-year-old actor, who is currently starring opposite Piper in a London production of Christopher Hampton's Treats , pushed the fan away from Piper as he tried to grab her.The former Doctor Who star was trying to leave the Wyndhams Theatre in central London, where Treats is showing, at the time of the incident.

The Doctor Who costumes ranged from the 2nd Doctor through to the 7th Doctor, and also featured costumes worn by The Master and The Steward from Episode Two of Series One.

The Restoration Team has released details on the upcoming DVD releases Robot and Timelash.The team's website describes the technical hurdles that had to be cleared in each story (such as the CSO effects in the final episode of Robot) as well as a list of special features for each DVD (listed below). The Doctor Who Information Network has been notified by Canadian broadcaster CBC that the 3rd Series of Doctor Who will air beginning in June 2007 and the 1st Series of Torchwood will air in Fall 2007. This will be a shorter wait for Series 3 than Canadians had for Series 2, where it aired from August to November (in French) and October to February (in English).

Billie Piper was this week's special guest on Michael Parkinson's Sunday Supplement on BBC Radio 2.Appearing mainly to promote her new West End play, Treats, Piper also spoke of her time on Doctor Who. Last chance to see Jacqueline Pearce?
Actress Jacqueline Pearce will be doing a fund-raising signing session in Scotland next week at an event that could well be the last opportunity for people to meet her.She will be at Voga in Leven St, Edinburgh, on Saturday, March 10 from 3pm to 5pm.Pearce, most famous for her role as Servalan in Blake's 7, played Chessene in The Two Doctors, Admiral Mettna in the BBCi drama Death Comes To Time and Sherilyn Harper in the Big Finish audio The Fearmonger.She is moving to the African bush indefinitely later this month to carry on her voluntary work with orphaned and wounded monkeys, and will be signing photos at the shop to raise funds.Pearce, 63, writes more about it on her website.

Captain Harkness rides to the rescue at stables
Kent News reports that Captain Jack Harkness will come face to face with the son of Dr Fong, which sounds like just the latest synopsis for an episode of Doctor Who or Torchwood. However, Dr Fong is a stallion whose offspring is a thoroughbred racehorse, who has been named Hucking Harkness in a tribute to the time-traveling character played by John Barrowman.
Barrowman said: "I can't wait to meet the colt and I'm hoping to see him race. It's straight out of a Torchwood script – two Harknesses in the same place at the same time!" The two Harknesses will meet on March 30th.

Billie Piper is set to get married????
Dr Who star Billie Piper is set to marry her boyfriend after a whirlwind romance, according to reports.
The 24-year-old actress has been dating Laurence Fox since the end of last year and it seems that things are going so well that an engagement could be announced 'any day now'.
Piper and Fox are appearing together in the West End play Treats.
A source close to his family told the Sun newspaper: 'The Fox family is buzzing with the news that an engagement announcement is imminent. It seems a little sudden but everyone who's seen them together knows how incredibly in love they are.
'His family are delighted and think Billie's smashing.'
If the rumour proves to be true then it will be the second marriage for Piper, who married Chris Evans when she was just 18 following a brief romance.
The pair remain the best of friends since their divorce but it seems that Fox has no problems with their relationship, as the source added to the Sun: 'Laurence is confident enough about his relationship with Billie not to feel jealous about her discussing her problems with Chris.'

Doctor Who Underwear Scenes Cut
WENN reports that television bosses axed a sequence in Doctor Who that showed the legendary sci-fi character's assistant wearing just underwear.
Martha Jones, played by Freema Agyeman, was to feature in a revealing underwater scene.
However, star David Tennant has revealed the steamy footage was cut by anxious BBC television chiefs.
He says, "There was an underwater scene in a draft of the new series but we nixed it out. It was bordering on inappropriate. "
