Doctor Who and his new companion Martha Jones are set to drop in on Tudor England.
The doctor meets William Shakespeare as he foils a plot to destroy the Earth.Set in 1599 in London, the Globe Theatre provides a backdrop for much of the action.The Doctor Who special effects team has recreated the look and feel of London's streets from 400 years ago for the second episode of the series.Freema Agyeman, who plays the Doctor's assistant, said: "This is one of the scariest episodes of the whole series with lots of hiding behind the sofa moments."It was great to film in the Globe, it really did feel as if we had travelled back in time."Doctor Who writer and executive producer Russell T Davies said: "The Shakespeare episode is, without doubt, one of our most ambitious projects to date. "It's incredible to have a working replica of London's most famous theatre in which to film the new series."Viewers can look forward to Shakespeare giving the performance of his life in order to save the earth from destruction."Shameless star Dean Lennox Kelly guest stars as William Shakespeare.
