EXTERMINATE THE BASH STREET KIDS

THE Daleks don't know what they're taking on when they try to exterminate The Bash Street Kids.
The merciless mob - the Daleks, that is - make their most dangerous encounter yet in the first new DC Thomson comic in over 20 years.
Scots actor David Tennant, the latest Doctor Who, and TV's Jonathan Ross are among a host of stars who pop up in the new BeanoMAX.
As the Beano approaches its 70th birthday next year, Dundee firm DC Thomson are launching a new monthly spin-off of the favourite comic, aimed at the 9-13s.
And the first BeanoMAX edition next Thursday will be a Comic Relief special.
As well as the Doctor and the Daleks invading Bash Street, Jamie Oliver will take over the school's canteen and England stars Frank Lampard and Steve Gerrard will feature in the Ball Boy strip.
McFly and Rowan Atkinson will also drop in on Dennis the Menace in a Red Nose balloon.
And Dennis even tells Jonathan Ross not to break anything because, "That's my job".
In The Invasion of Bash Street, a Dalek arrives and The Bash Street Kids want it to help them with their homework.
But it has other ideas and tells them while they are having lunch that they need to "study or you'll all be exterminated".
The Bash Street gang turn the tables on the Dalek, breaking it in two and using the bottom half as a dustbin.
When the Doctor arrives, he jokes: "I don't know who'll save the world from Olive's (the canteen cook) cooking though."
The last comic DC Thomson launched was Hoot, which ran from 1985-86.
BeanoMAX will mix Beano favourites with more interviews and features.
In the first edition there's an interview with Harry Potter star Rupert Grint.
It's not the first time the Beano has joined forces with Comic Relief.
It teamed up with the fund-raiser in 1991 and there's been a tie-up with Sports Relief for two years.
The free gifts in the first BeanoMAX include the classic Whoopee cushion.
There's also a special phone-in competition to win the famous suit worn in past shows by Lenny Henry.
All proceeds go to Comic Relief. This year's Red Nose Day is next Friday.
