United Kingdom: Billie Piper for Eurovision 2007?

According to information provided to us via the Oikotimes.com newsdesk, Billie Piper has been approached by the BBC to sing the United Kingdom's entry in the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. The information comes from a post on a Doctor Who website (Billie Piper has stared in the programe as the Doctor's assistant), which says that movements between departments at the BBC have resulted in someone connected with the Saturday night television show going to the Eurovision branch of the corporation. This, according to the post, has resulted in Billie Piper being approached (becuase of the connections). We cannot stress enough that these are just rumours, but we have contacted the BBC for a second time and await a response. At the current time, nothing has been confirmed by the broadcaster.

Billie Piper shot to the top of the British charts with the song ''Because We Want To'' back in 1998, and also hit top spot with ''Girlfriend'' in the same year, and ''Day and Night'' in 2000. Many of her other songs made it into the top five. She has recently been back in the charts since BBC Radio One DJ Chris Moyles backed a campaign to have listeners to buy her song ''Honey to the Bee'' and take advantage of the new download chart rules, getting the song up to number 17! Possibly her next move could be to try her hand at Eurovision? We'll have to wait and see.
