Billie Piper suffers sudden 'blindness'

Billie Piper has been rushed to hospital after she suffered from a sudden loss of eyesight.The Doctor Who actress was dining at The Ivy restaurant in London when her eyes became blurred when she stepped outside to have a cigarette.She then tried to cover her face up when the photographer's bulbs started flashing and was in obvious discomfort.The 24-year-old panicked when she woke up the following morning and could not open her eyes and was taken to Moorfield's Eye Hospital in Central London.A friend of the actress said: "She's being looked at but we don't know the score. It could be that her eyesight has been damaged or that she has some form of infection or other condition."Experts have said that retinal damage can be caused by camera flashes but this is rare and could serve as a trigger for existing conditions.
