Regular listeners of Big Finish's range of Tomorrow People audio dramas will be aware that the sixth season of plays, due to begin release from September 2007, has been previously announced as delayed.
We can now reveal that this was due to ongoing license negotiations. Unfortunately, Big Finish were unable to reach an agreement with FremantleMedia Enterprises, who control the rights to The Tomorrow People. Subsequently, our licence to produce The Tomorrow People on audio could not be renewed and the sixth season has had to be cancelled.
In a statement FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) have said:
"FremantleMedia Licensing would like to thank Big Finish for all they have done in the past and hope that in the future we will be able to work together again."
Naturally this is disappointing news for all concerned. If you have already pre-ordered or subscribed to the season six titles, you will be contacted shortly about a refund.
Big Finish would like to thank its customers for their patience. We apologise for the initial lack of explanation and regret that we were not successful in negotiating a happier conclusion.
The first five seasons of the The Tomorrow People audio dramas are currently available at a discount rate as part of the Big Finish Christmas Sale. However, all Tomorrow People audio titles will be permanently removed from sale on 7th January 2008. (18/12/07)
