Review of Billie Piper in new stage production 'Treats' in Bristol.

Billie's just a Treat

BILLIE Piper swaps the Daleks of Dr Who for centre stage at the Theatre Royal, Bath, this month, in Treats. With her egotistical ex-boyfriend, Dave, out of her life for now, Ann (Billie Piper), a young professional at a struggling newspaper, takes the opportunity to rebuild her shattered confidence by forming a 'rebound relationship' with Patrick, the office bore. Normality, of sorts, is restored until Dave returns on a macho mission to try to win her backWith a barrage of belittling mockery unleashed on Ann's new love interest, and home truths mercilessly revealed at every turn, the question is who, if anyone, will conquer the testosterone-charged battleground and ultimately get the girl. Joining Billie on stage in Bristol are TV favourites Kris Marshall and Laurence Fox. Kris is well known for playing bumbling son Nick in six hit series of the BBC comedy My Family and has also starred in Murder City and appeared in The Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons. Laurence is probably best known as Kevin Whateley's sidekick in Lewis. Treats will be staged from Monday until February 10. Tickets, priced £14-£30, are available from the box office on 01225 448844.
